BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. — The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has released more information about last Wednesday’s shooting in Colonial Heights.
Officials were called to a residence on Hillandale Drive after 8 p.m. Detectives gathered more information throughout the evening and began an investigation.
Detectives learned the homeowner noticed an individual “exiting his residence and approaching him in a manner that caused the homeowner to fear for his safety,” according to a news release from SCSO Capt. Andy Seabolt.
The homeowner shot the individual with a pistol, and the individual was transported from the scene for medical treatment with injuries that were not life-threatening, Seabolt said.
While no names are being released, the incident will be presented to a Sullivan County grand jury at a later date for consideration of charges. No individuals have been charged in connection with the incident.
